Re: meaning of?
Alcazar is a Spanish name meaning "castle" or "citadel."
Fictional namesakes include the opportunistic Latin American putschist general from Tintin :)

Actually Alcazar is Arabic for "The Castle" (Al-Cazar).In spanish is Castillo or Citadela.
Now there is a castle called Alcazar in spain because it was build by the Muslims who conquered Spain for a while.

Actually Alcazar does also mean fortress in Spanish, and even in English (it is included as an English word in the Oxford English Dictionary). But you are right to point out that the ultimate origin is from Arabic :)
