Jamaya
in reply to a message by Jocelyn
While a 'net search suggests that Jamaya may be an Arabic/Islamic word or name, I wasn't able to decipher its meaning.
I'm kinda intrigued with this name, myself, seeing as how there were 82 girl babies born in the U.S. and issued Social Security cards with their name given as "Jamaya" last year, and 9 named "Jamayah".
I'll probably ring up one of the foreign embassies later today and run it past them, as I've done that before with success. Just keep checking this message board for your answer, in case I (or someone else) finds it for you.

Well, my first name is Jamilaih (Arabic) and for some reason my brother and sister didn't like my name when I was younger and decided to call me Jamaya instead. I had no idea so many girls had this name. Cool!!
