The alyssum flower's name literally means "kind of madder" in Latin. That meaning, in turn, derives from Greek a- "not, without" and lussa "rabies". Since rabies causes madness before causing death, the meaning could translate as "not insane".Maybe you should go with the Alicia derivation. ;-)Miranda
