Message: "Albany" - Behind the Name

I might have mentioned that my gran enjoys learning about the family history in her spare time. A placename that comes up again and again is Albany, near London - there are a lot of great stories from there! It occured to me that Albany makes a good girls' name, especially with the meaningful connotations it has for me. WDYT?

Any ideas for combinations?

ALl I can think about is Albany, New York

However, if its meaningful for you, go for it. I don't really like the sound, but its a good enough name.

I think it is one fo those place anmes that does lend itself to being a good given name, my like how I like Syracuse.

I think Albany Anne, Albany Jean or Albany Louise would be nice.
