It's ok. I prefer Marisa which is more musical to my way of thinking.
I think it's very pretty. I can't help but associate it with Frasier, that's the only drawback for me.
Very, very bad name, IMO.
I think it's nice but it's not a favorite of mine.
I like it a lot, it's very pretty. I use to go to school with a Maris, she was the only one I've ever met.
Good name
I think it's really pretty. Feminine, but not too delicate. Spunky yet soft. All around the marks of what I consider a great girl's name. :)

I don't really like it, it's the sound.
I think it's beautiful and it's also a plus that you don't hear it that often.
It reminds me of the character from Frasier too. In case you haven't seen that, she was an extremely eccentric and neurotic person who the audience never actually saw. That allowed them to exaggerate her supposed appearance and mannerisms to no end. See this wikipedia article for an overview. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maris_Crane
However, it's just a tv show, and one that isn't even being taped anymore. It is still strong in syndication; I still will stop and watch it when I happen to pass by a station showing an episode. But it's an association meaningless to people who didn't watch the show, and I'm sure it will fade quickly for those of us who did.

I always liked it but it was rather spoiled for me by Niles' wife in Frasier.

Maybe in a few years it will change, but it still reminds me of Niles' never-to-be-seen wife on "Frasier". :b
I used to love this name! It's one of those "water" names and I love those. I wouldn't use it, but it's on my list of "if only's".

It's very nice, but not something I'd use. Around here, words or names that start with an "ar" sound are pronounced differently all the time, like Karen for instance. Some people say CARE-in, while others say KA-rin. It can get annoying and confusing for me, which is why I tend to stay away from names with a similar sound.
Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely name, and it's a shame I've had to talk myself out of using it. =/
