There are men for whom the epitome of manhood and dignity is not found in a locker room with a crowd of the foul and obnoxious buddies you're imagining. Actually, I'd guess it's the majority of men. I think the "teased by childhood peers" angle that gets thrown at names that aren't butch enough is way overblown.
