Gerald
With the passing of former president Gerald Ford, I've been giving thought to the name Gerald. I like only the full name, not Jerry.
What do you think of this name?

My big problem with it is...I read Stephen Kings' "Gerald's Game" some time ago and that's all that comes to mind with Gerald. We actually live in Ford's home town and we've been talking about simply Ford. (But that probably suits our naming style...we seem to run to one-syllable, could-be-a-word names.)

I love Ford. It's fresh to me.

I like it, actually. A Gerald and a Jerry are totally different in my mind, though.

My dad has this name, only spelt Jerald. I perfer that spelling. Jerald/Gerald is an okkay name, I like the nickname Jake though.

It sounds like the name of a middle aged nerdy accountant.Sorry, not appealing to me.

eh, if you only like the full name, then maybe as a middle name,,,,

Its my uncles name, who goes by Jerry. I am not really a fan of either though. I typically like full names more than nns, not usually understanding why people say they would use a nn unless the name is long (3+ syllables). Gerald is nice, but kind of old sounding to me. Not old like a lot of other names, and probably be a little refreshing with all the trendy names floating around.
