It's the only form of Isabel aside from Sibeal (as in, the only name that is related to and bears a noticable resemblance to Isabel, not one that's spawned from the same source like Elizabeth, etc) that I enjoy. I think it has an interesting sound without being too unusual, and that it begins with a Z and I like it is a minor miracle, since I'm not a huge Z names person. :-)
By the way, how do you pronounce it? In my head I always say ZAH-bul, though that's just a guess and I don't know how it actually is intended to be.

I think we're aiming for almost the same thing, just different ways of getting there. :-) I wouldn't make a distinct "bell" sound at the end, though, more of a "bl".
