Adele
I've been really interested in French names lately, and I've just recently come across Adele. I fell in love with it immediately. I love the way it sounds and the way it looks, but I wonder if it's too old fashioned? I don't think that matters, because it's a beautiful name, and it's still pretty popular in France. What do you think of it, and do you have any middle names to go with it?P.S. I like the spelling "Adele" rather than "Adelle", how about you?"You use your money to buy privacy because during most of your life you aren't allowed to be normal." -Johnny Depp

It's not too old fashioned. I like it a lot. Personally, I slightly prefer Adelle, but both are nice.-- Sarah

Lovely. My great grandmother (my maternal grandmother's mother) bore the name "Adele Frances" ("Adele" pronounced as "AD-a-lay" in her case). She was affectionately known as "Addie Frances".No, it's not old-fashioned. It's a beautiful, classic name. Sometimes, old-fashioned and traditional is better.

Well... it should be fairly obvious that I like the name. :) I chose the spelling I did because I prefer an English roots over French for an unknown reason, but mostly because a capital A is such a wide letter that a skinny little l at the end looks completely unbalanced. I like the symmetry of way Adelle looks. My favorite combo is Adel(l)e Sofia (my login). I think classic, not overly frilly yet feminine names work best with it.

I love Adele. I much prefer this spelling to Adelle, but I'm not sure why. :b I think a French mn would sound best with it, like Adele Simone.
