Re: Unity
One of my 5th great-grandmothers was named Unity. Her sisters were named Mourning, Charity (Cherry), Keziah, Mary Penelope and Mary Drusilla. Unity would be a bit much as a first name, but I think it would be a great middle name.

I wonder whether Mourning was stillborn, or born after the loss of a child?
Could be, though I've seen it used fairly often (for a rare word name anyway, about as often as Obedience, Deliverance, Morning) for people who lived into old age, with seemingly no death of the mother or a sibling. I've seen Mourning Dove, too, which makes me feel like its usage can be connected to the slightly more common Dove.
