Fatima

I like Fatima. But I can see how the Fat prefix could lead to teasing.
I find it very pretty
I think it's a gorgeous name, in all honesty.
It’s nice but can’t really imagine it on anyone who isn’t either Muslim or Portuguese.
The only time I have heard it it was fat-ih-ma, not fah-teem-a. I think the girl was Iraqi or something. I kind of like it though.
I’ve always thought Fatima was elegant and lovely.
Not a fan of the name. I realize it’s a popular name in Arabic but there are other Arabic names with a more pleasant sound. I’ve never known anyone named Fatima. Does anyone know what is the correct Arabic pronunciation? I’ve heard it as FAH tim uh, FAT im uh and Fah TEEM uh?
FA-tee-mah
I've only ever heard it said with a short "im", not TEE, but that could be regional.
FAH-tim-ah
FAH-tim-ah
That's the same isn't it? The emphasis is still on the first syllable
It was one of the most popular names in my school growing up (we had a large Islamic community) and it always makes me think of popular girls as a result! One girl even went by Fati (not in a teasing way at all, she was popular and pretty)
I teach a couple now, it's still a popular name in certain community groups.

I knew a Fatima whose nn was Timmy. I thought that was a good idea.
Don't like it at all
I don’t think Fatima has a pleasant sound, and the word “fat” sticks out to me. I know fat isn’t bad word, but it’s not exactly something you want to name your child either.
Yes! There was a school "Out Lady of Fatima" and kids called it "Out Lady of Fat Mama."
