I know I posted a poll about these two already, but I am curious about people's opinions of Dorothea and Theodora. I go back and forth between really disliking them and finding them to be likable and interesting inverses of each other. If you particularly like either one, I am especially interested in hearing why.

I'd also be happy to hear opinions on other similar names.

I prefer Dorothea because it avoids the nicknames Theo and Teddy, which I feel are definitely masculine.

I love encountering Dorothea. On other people's children, I enjoy Dorothea more than Theodora. However, if I had to choose between the two for my own kid, I would go with Theodora primarily for family reasons.

Theodora - queenly, august, Byzantine
Dorothea - lively, petite brunette, fun sense of style

I prefer Dorothea because it's a bit dowdier and more novelesque.

I highly prefer Dorothea to Theodora. I also prefer Dorothy to Dorothea, but Dorothea is pretty. The reason I don’t like Theodora is mainly because of the sound.

Dorothea radiates warmth and has my favorite nicknames 😊

Theodora is fine, but aside from being over-popular now, it doesn't excite me.

Theodora please! I really like Theodora. I first encountered it on the name of my ex-substitute teacher. It's loveable!

Dorothea on the other is fine, but I already have Dorothy on my favorite so I prefer Dorothy.

Of the two, Dorthea. Prefer Theodosia over Theodora.

Neither of them really appeal to me despite liking Theodore for a boy.
Out of the two I chose Theodora on the poll because Dorothea reminds me of the dinosaur too much. I prefer Thea as nickname though.

I've honestly never heard Dorothea used. As for Theodora, depending on the context, I think it can be nice and old-fahioned
