There was a Nerissa at my high school, and the name always reminds me of her. She was Japanese-American IIRC, smart and cute and athletic and outgoing. But unlike most kids at my school who were noticeably smart, cute, athletic, or outgoing ... she was also friendly and kind to everyone. Thanks to her, maybe, I like the name. I don't favorite it because I like Marissa more, and I don't love Shakespeare-invention names. The Nerissa I knew explained it as referring to nereids, rather than mentioning Shakespeare, and I don't blame her. I'd pair it with a two syllable name ending with an -ee sound.
