I have a soft spot for it, it's cute and timeless.Rubí (ru-BEE), the Spanish form, is somewhat common in Latin America but not Spain. It's an okay name.I have to say I really like the variety of your PNLs - they are lovely on their own. :)Anyway:Abigail

My nieces are Ruby and Annabelle. Ruby Frances and Annabelle Rose. You could have named them.Aside from my niece, two of my FB friends have toddlers named Ruby, and there's a funny kid at my church named Ruby. It's a nice name that suddenly seems to be everywhere. It's a "tasteful choice" in, like, educated populations. Other names...
Phoebe
Ramona
Fiona
Flora

Ruby was really popular about 10-15 years ago in the UK, so it already feels a bit dated to me. It seems like most teenage girls I meet here are named Ruby, Millie or Tilly! I only know one toddler Ruby.Suggestions:Lucy
Flora
Ivy
Evelyn
Tessa
Ishbel
Rowenna
Emer

I really like Ruby and have been thinking of it lately as a short name idea. It's somewhat popular in my region but not unbearably so. In my community growing up there were 2 sisters named Audrey & Ruby. Ruby is probably one of the "older" new wave of Ruby's at the moment being in her early 20s. I also know a few elementary aged Ruby's as well. I suggest you look at some new lists with fresh eyes. As for names to go with it I would consider these names to have a similar vibe: Lyra, Opal, Ivy, Evie, Nora, Ellie, Ella, Willow, Millie, Annie, Lottie, Nellie, Josie, Phoebe, Iris, Sapphire, Garnet, Emerald, Hazel,Mabel, Tilly, Willa, Miri, Ginny, Dottie, Hattie, Tessie, Delphi, Luanne, Delia, Ines, Jackie, Nella, Isla, Liza, Faye, Rosie, Mina, Kittie, Polly, Astrid, Yvette, Marnie, Twyla,
