Sage & Shelby
Both for girls.I already have Shelby on my ♂list, but I’ve been liking it on a girl as well lately.I absolutely despise the name Sage on a boy but it’s been on my mind for a girl lately. Middle name suggestions for Sage would be appreciated, as I find one syllable names difficult to pair.Anyway, what do you think of both? :)

Please rate my lists. All of them are ratable except for the Main list and the Surname list. :)New names! PNL updated 7/7https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/174843/136906

Aw, thanks for peeping the PNL. Sage Valentina is pretty, I just worry about one-syllable first names paired with super long middle names being tacky /:Sage Marina is gorgeous. :)

Shelby on a boy is cute as a button. An old friend of mine had a baby like 15 years ago and called her Shelby and I found I never got into it.Sage on a girl, hmm, let me see. I feel like it needs a longer middle. Something warm and sensible. Or what about a three name combo?Sage Eleanor
Sage Caroline
Sage Francine (I love Francine, it's become my new favorite suggestion for any and every combo)
Sage Melissa
Sage Marceline Audrey
Sage Amanda
Sage Anneliese
Sage Tabitha
Sage Augusta
Sage Emmeline
Sage Emily Jeannette
Sage Amelia Margot
Sage Aurelia Lorelei
Sage Leota HeleneYeah that's a tough one.

I think Sage Marcelline on its own is stunning!I also like Eleanor, Caroline, Francine (I’ve also found Francine works well in the middle spot), Anneliese & Tabitha :)Thanks!

I dislike Shelby due to personal associations. Sage is pretty, I had a student at a summer program who was a girl named Sage, but I never interacted with her. Combos are pretty tricky.Sage NaomiSage MarissaSage AmandaSage MiriamSage RamonaSage SophiaSage Serena

I actually like Sage for a boy, but it’s good for a girl too. Sage Phoenix was a combo I came up with a while ago, but I will admit that’s a bit out there. I can’t even picture Shelby on a boy, if I’m being completely honest.

I can only picture (and like it) on a boy because of Peaky Blinders, even though it was used as a surname. Definitely more of a GP!I actually love the name Phoenix, for a boy as well. :)

Don't like either name

I love the name Shelby but I know a toxic girl named it which ruins the name for me. Shelby sounds tomboyish and girly at the same time. Sage use to be my favourite name, but I’m beginning to think it’s a weird name.
I’m not very good at middle names but here are a few common ones that are ok:
Sage Rose
Sage May
Sage Marie
