Re: Italian Top30 - 2019

The Italian top 30 isn't very surprising. In fact, it's very similar to the previous years' tops. Lots of the names sound really boring, weak and too meaningless. Some of them seem elderly, because they have been used since a long time. I think they are in the Top 30 because in Southern Italy newborns are used to be named after their grandparents. The only names of this top I like are Lorenzo, Mattia, Elia, Martina, Giorgia, Gaia, Elena and Viola. There are some names sounding better in other languages -for example, Alexander is much more euphonic than Alessandro; Marc sounds more refined than Marco etc. I generally dislike trendy names, I prefer more particular and rare ones -and that's why I became a name nerd.
