Re: Frances/ Francis
I adore the names Frances for a girl and Francis for a boy.Frank is a nice nn for a boy, but I prefer Francie / Franny for a girl.I don't see a problem with naming a son after the mother. It's very refreshing, to me.

Hmm, nobody else seems to find naming a son after their mother strange except me. I don't know why I don't like it, I don't really like any "Junior" names and to me this just seems far fetched. At least she used the correct spelling, though!
Would you pronounce Francie, Fran-see, or the same as Frankie, only spelled differently?

"Fran-see" -- rhymes with fancy.I suppose I don't have as much a problem with "junior" names because parents go by "Mom" or "Dad" (or equivalents) so much of the time. (At least in my house growing up.)
