I’ve been saying it as “SIE-ril” when it’s actually “SIR-uhl”. Those cereal comments make a lot more sense now, and I don’t think I like Cyril now as much as I initially did.

I've been pronouncing it that way too, and I'll continue to do so lol, my sister's classmate was named Cyril and pronounced it that way so w/e
It doesn't make sense that we pronounce Cyril and Cyrus differently when they both come from Greek and are both technically wrong (should be a hard K sound)

Maybe, but Cyrillic is pronounced with a seer!
I thought it was either SIE-ril or SEER-ul. SEER-ul would make more sense with the cereal comments.
