Augusta & Olympia
Two names on my mind at the moment, Augusta and Olympia
I like Olympia, but don't think i'd ever use it. However i'm really loving Augusta at the moment.
Not sure if we will have a 3rd, but I love Theodora, Hermione and Augusta as sisters. I don't think it would get much love at all from anyone IRL, but that has never bothered me before. I actually like the 'Gus' bit as my dad's nickname as a kid was Gus, so it's kinda a cute nod to him.
I'm pretty much all out of girls names, so I don't know what i'd use as a middle name...
Maybe:
Augusta Frances, Augusta Jacqueline (mums name), Augusta Cecily (grandfathers MN is Cecil)
Thoughts? Combos?

Augusta is fine! Much nicer than August for a boy. But it's such an important name that it really needs two mns, or I think it does anyway.
Frances and Cecily are good; Jacqueline seems to come from a different naming tradition. Which is a pity, but a simple tweak can solve most things.
Augusta Cecily Joan!

I think Augusta Jacqueline is the nicest.
I don’t like Gus for a girl... at all... I don’t like it on a male either, but I think it’s almost horrid on a girl. I hope if you did use it you wouldn’t use it for a nickname. Lol

To be fair, nicknames that you think of beforehand don't always end up being used. We always wanted to name our eldest THeodora with the nicknames of Theo or Teddy. Teddy did not stick at all, we didn't even call her that once! It didn't suit her. She gets called Theo by hubby but will never call herself Theo. So Augusta could end up with no nickname (like Theodora) or Augie or Gus or some other random one!
I definitely agree. My daughter gets called by a nickname so often, a family friend actually did not know until she was 4 that it wasn’t her real name!
And 2 of my sons have nicknames not even related to their names, they simply “fit”. Sort of like “buddy” or “scooter”.

My brother is 32 and has gone by the nickname Chin since he was about 5. It came about because my cousin couldn't say Christian and it sounded like ChitChin lol.
I think some of my friends don't even know what his real name is lol.

I love them both.
Ive like Gussie for a bit but wasn’t previously sold on Augusta. It has definitely grown more on me recently.
Theodora, Hermione and Augusta would be stunning together. I adore Theodora anyway.

I really like both. I think they hit that sweet spot of being effortless to pronounce and spell, but no one is really using them at the moment. They don't sound dated or made up. I honestly love the feel of both of them - Augusta is so vast and regal, and Olympia is like...sportier regal? They both feel fresh and established all at once. They're both beautiful names and would make a lovely sibset.
I like Hermione a bit less. I absolutely, absolutely love Harry Potter, but it's pretty plain that the name is from that. It feels like more focused on creating a tribute to a fandom than thinking of a suitable name for a child. It's kinda low-effort but trying too hard all at once. I'd pick something else for the third.

Theodora and Hermione are the children that I already have.
Hermione is a name used in HP, but it's had a long history before J.K Rowling used it. I did not pick it as some sort of 'fandom'. I like HP, but I did not use it because of that, I chose another Greek name with lots of history and meaning. (I also studied Shakespeare winters tale in high school, which had Hermione in it!)

Augusta ... it's nice. I'm distracted by the "gust"-iness of it. Augusta fresh air.
It goes okay with Theodora and Hermione. But it's harder and colder than they are.
Olympia is more appealing to me, and fits better.
Eugenia would be nice too, if you like that name. Or Aurelia.
Augusta Frances is lovely and so is A. Cecily.

Heh, I would not worry about pushing into the HP category at this point. That ship has sailed ... You've already pretty much told the world that you don't care if they think that, by using Hermione. I don't even recognize Olympia as an HP name. (I looked it up, and it's not? It was Olympe) It's not as if nobody had heard of the name Olympia before HP, either. It's well known. I think a person who would look at your kids and think of HP is the one implicated as a fanatic, not you!

I like Augusta, Olympia and Theodora and think they are all lovely and usable.
There is a popular Instagram family with a daughter named Olympia called Polly which makes it seem much more usable to me. https://www.instagram.com/meetthewildes/
I think Hermione is what throws it over the edge of too whimsical and trying too hard.
