Harriott
I saw it in a book today. What would you think if you saw it used?

It's mostly an 18th-19th century variant, so I'd think 'family name'. Or possibly that someone wanted to smush Harrison and Elliott for namesake purposes; or saw it on an old tombstone and fancied it; or couldn't spell Harriet?

I've seen Harriotte which I like better. Harriott makes me think of Marriott Hotels and gets pronounced accordingly. The -e on Harriotte helps me feel barely less inclined ti that pronunciation, bur definitely Harriet is best.

It makes me think of the Marriott hotel chain.

I think if I saw Harriott being used, I would think someone didn't know how to spell Harriet.

Looks like something you’d nickname a hotel after you stayed there and the room had previous guests’ hair all over it.
