Tsarmina
I want to be clear: I would NEVER use this name on a real person! But I find it compelling and I wanted to discuss it.
I read a couple of books from the Redwall series when I was a kid. I remember disliking them, but otherwise I can't remember a thing about the series... except this name. It's stuck with me for years. The character was an anthropomorphic cat.
I haven't been able to find it using any of my usual naming resources, so the author probably made it up. One thing I read was that it may have been a combination of Tsarina (because she was a ruler) and the word "mean" (she wasn't the nicest character).
Does anybody else find this name intriguing? Would you ever put it on your list, either as a real option, as a GP or as a pet name?

I'm guessing he made it up, some combination of Tsar/Tsarina, and names like Wilhelmina/Evangeline.
I actually loved those books as a kid, read most of them. I remember he did a lot of names that were smushes or slight variations on real names: Mattimeo, Triss, Asmodeus, Samkim, Pasque, Russa, Tamello. But that's pretty standard for fantasy/fictional universe books. Lord of the Rings, Tamora Pierce, Star Wars, etc.
I have the association of the character, so probably wouldn't use it. There are nicer names. I would even consider using Caesar or Zara for a cat but not Tsarina/Tsarmina.

Maybe if I had read the books and was familiar with the character, I'd consider it for a cat. Not for a person, though.
I don't find it attractive even as a GP. Zarmina might be better.
