Do they say something that sounds like nole?
It's her middle (technically part of a double-barreled first, but she uses it as a middle). Since it's paired with
Holly as Holly-Noel... people instinctively say no-elle
I know a guy whose name is
Noel and he goes by nole. I don't like it.
He and his wife are very uppity about it too. Apparently (to them) that is the way the name is "supposed" to be said, but people are just too uncultured to get it.
