Re: Ted as a nickname for Edgar?
I don't like Edgar at all, but I think Ted would work fine for it, and any of the 'Ed' names.Question: Do you pronounce it ED-gar or EGG er?http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/167578

I had a great-uncle named Edgar, and when my sisters and I were children, we used to call him "Uncle EGG-er". As we matured into teenagers, we began to pronounce his name "ED-gar"---on the rare occasions that we referred to him. I always thought that "EGG-er" was just a childish mispronunciation. Do any adults say, "EGG-er", I wonder?

It certainly used to be the usual pronunciation in England, but I think now very out dated
