Genetrix
Hi all,
As I was researching the Roman Temple of Venus Genetrix, I had the thought that this would be an interesting given name and wondered about opinions y'all might have. Personally, I would never use it on a child, but it contains historical/mythological associations and popular name elements that might feel/sound/look pleasing to others. I'm interested to hear your responses!

Naming a child Genetrix is a bit premature, surely? Better suited to her mother! There must be several better ways of arriving at the nn Jenny.

It sounds like a namebrand

I automatically think of the word 'genetics'. As a name it would make me think of a clone in a scifi themed book or movie.

Lol, my first thought was that Genetrix sounds like the name of a scifi device.

It reminds me of geriatrics... Not too fabulous, really.

It looks like a Genevieve and Beatrix hybrid, but it also looks like a medication name. I don't think it works.

Genetrix sounds like it could be one of Stephen Colbert's medicines from his Cheating Death segments, where side effects are "inflated hernias, sprained ventricles, vaginal mrsa infection, and iatrophobia." (fear of doctors, if I'm making the phobia name correctly.)

Not fond of it. Sounds more like a name for life insurance or something
Garett or Gerald would be significantly better

It sounds like some kind of cereal marketed at elderly folks (probably with a very high fiber content). I don't think it would make a good name.

It looks like the name of an evil genetic engineering company, one that performs unethical experiments in a lab so secret most of their employees don't even know it is there.

Genetrix means 'mother', apparently.I do like the similar Viatrix, Salvatrix, Bellatrix.. but like Genetrix I don't think they're usable except for Beatrix.

Sounds like a VERY VERY old friend of Asterix and Obelix.

Genetrix, tricks you can play with your genes.

Sounds like a mashup of "genitals" and "dominatrix". No, thanks.
