Nora Jane is the only one I really like, but Lukas David, Ivan Peter and Audrey Grace are not bad either. There are some weird non names in there. Wanette? Bentli? Jalayna?Surprisingly high number of Eowyns too.

Yeah, for whatever reason Eowyn is like really popular in my area. It started around 2005/2006 when I began noticing a few Eowyn's here and there in the paper, and then it kinda died down for a bit but since The Hobbit came out it started getting popular again. My guess is it's due to a combination of Tolkien fans and (mostly) people just seeing the name in the paper and liking it. Plus it seems like way more than it is, cause this is a year's worth of BAs, not just like a month lolBut, yeah, my town is weird. We relatively close to a major urban city but we're also "rural" so the names that turn up in BAs tend to have a strange mix of names.

I've just read The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey which came out in 2012 and has been talked about a lot. Maybe that has influenced people along with the Tolkein thing?http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Snow-Child-Eowyn-Ivey/dp/0755380533/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394626842&sr=8-1&keywords=the+snow+child+eowyn+ivey

Possibly! Who knows lol

Ivan, Ian and IsaacI always wonder if parents who have these names for their kids know they are picking different versions of the same name. Maybe the dad is named John. It's a nice set, regardless.

The fact they're derivatives of the same name doesn't bother me add much add the fact that they are far too similar to each other. Ivan and Ian are only one letter different, for goodness sake! The parents almost certainly don't know the names are related.Jalayna and Janessa are also too similar IMO.

I wondered that myself when I saw it. Honestly, I think they don't know, cause it seems clear they were just going for 'I' names lol. My sister and I have the "same" mn (Rhoda and Rose), and it was unintentional. It's kinda funny when it happens though I can't help but feel a bit bad for the kids in a family when it's their first names lol.
