Re: Hawaiian/Polynesian Names

I met a woman with a two year old named Alani ("ah-LAH-nee"). She wasn't a South Sea Islander, but she was mixed Caucasian and African(-American). She was named after her father Alan. I thought it was a brilliant name choice. :-) I wish Alani were in the database. It means "orange tree."Noelani is beautiful as well. I want to like the name Malia, but I'm still trying. Kai, for a boy, is handsome. I'm sure there are others but those are the ones coming to mind at the moment.
