Some traditional nns can stand on their own. Somehow Theo doesn't feel like one of them to me. If you do't like the "door" in Theodore, there's always Theophilus ("thee-AH-fil-us"), Theodosius or even Timothy.
I've used Theo as a name in its own right in combinations, but always as a mn. Solomon Theo, for example.
