I really like Shelby. I've never actually met a human one so it doesn't really seem all that trendy to me - like, it sounds like it should be common but my personal experience wants to say otherwise.

And surprisingly, I can see it aging well. I find it just as easy to picture a middle-aged or elderly woman named Shelby as it is to picture a young or teen-aged girl.

I only knew one Shelby when I was growing up. It's not that common. It does remind me of the Shelby Mustang though.

I know several, including a cousin. Also know at least two dogs named Shelby.
My husband likes it, and suggested it for our daughter, but I shot that one down. (He shot down Maria, a favorite of mine, so we were even.) I just don't like the sound of it. Always made me think of "Shelby comin' round the mountain."

I've never met a Shelby. I don't love it, but I'd find it cute if I met one. I don't think it's too common at all.

I don't like it. I seems insubstantial to me, and unintelligent. I was almost named Shelby, maybe I'd feel differently about it then. :P I went to school with one, and the only other one I know was my old nurse who is maybe about 40. Both female. I do like Shelby as a Southern antebellum gentleman character sort of name, though.

I know a few. The youngest is about 3, and the eldest (the only male) is in his late 30s.

I don't love it, but I don't mind it on either sex. I like it enough that I'd rather see Shelby than Shelley for girls or Sheldon for boys.

I know two girl Shelbys (12 and 20-something) and one boy Shelby (20-something). I think it's a cute name, but don't think I would use it.

Funny story: One day my grandma said she hated boys names on girls. I guess she didn't realize she had two granddaughters who fit that category: Shelby and Hilary.

I know a baby Shelby. She's maybe two. She's the only one I know of, so it's not overly trendy or common for me.

I'm the same way. I used to really dislike the name but since I now work with a Shelby, I've started to like it. I've only known 2 Shelby's. One of them was like 8 or 9, she's probably 13 or 14 now and the one I work with is 17.
