On a more serious note: what bugs me the most about Madison is the "-son" suffix. I can't understand how parents ignore that. It's not like Mackenzie, in which the meaning of "Mac" can escape a person if they don't do their proper research. But the "son" in Madison is evident. Unless she decides to change her gender down the road, Miss Madison Kay is a daughter.
Maudsdóttir would be more appropriate if one wishes to use a matronymic.

I love the sound of Maudsdóttir! I don't think I would use that one as a first name, but it might make a nice middle name. I wish feminine patronymics could see more usage, though. Especially when names like Madison are used on girls.
