Re: Electra and Elektra
I love Electra / Elektra, but I know it wouldn't be the easiest name to carry. Then again, I'm always struck by my jealousy when I see a funky / unusual name like this used in real life. How many times have I sat in a theater reading the credits and kicking myself because someone else named a child Bathsheba / Consolata / Ishbel before I got the chance? Lots, let me tell you. It's all academic for me because I won't be having kids. But I still get that pang of jealousy. I wouldn't want you to run into a real life Electra / Elektra one day and feel the same way. It might be worse for you since you're really in a position to use it.Is Electra / Elektra usable? It is if you use it. :-) She can always go by Ellie / Ella if she isn't ready for the full on Greekiness of it. But the day will come when she gets it, and what a happy day for her. :-DI would use the Electra spelling because it's what I'm used to. Electra Sophie
Electra Phoebe
Electra Jane
Electra Charis
Electra Sylvie
Electra Vivien
Electra Natalie
Electra Daphne
Electra Marion
Electra Gillian
Electra Genevieve
Electra Damaris ("DAM-uh-ris")
Electra Juno
Electra Morwen
Electra Niobe ("NIE-uh-bee")
Electra Maeve
Electra Zoe
Electra Sabine
Electra DagmarTricky. Whatever you do, please do not use Lux (Electrolux is a brand) or Kate (sound like electrocute) as mns. I suspect you'll have a time convincing a significant other to use it so you might as give free reign to your Electra fancy now.

Haha, my SO and I haven't started talking baby names. I've been dating the guy two weeks! There'll be time for that later. He has told me, though, that he wants a boy named William... so I'm game for that. I'll let my Electra flag fly high while I can, though, for sure. :DI love love love the combos you came up with! My absolute favorites are Electra Phoebe (so full of light!), Electra Charis, Electra Daphne, Electra Genevieve, Electra Juno, Electra Morwen, and Electra Sabine (I usually don't like Sabine, so this is really cool). I get the same jealousy when I see someone with a cool unique name. I mean, Laura's a nice name, but it's pretty darn common. I saw a little girl Cordelia the other day and I was just thinking to myself, "She's gonna love that name" because it's so unique and cool! For the record, while I wouldn't use Bathsheba, Batsheva is on my short list. ;)
