Pauline and Paulina
What are your opinions on Pauline and Paulina? Or are there variants that you prefer? Combinations (fn or mn)? I'm looking for someone to wake me up this morning, so go crazy with the combos if you'd like.

Well. Pauline doesn't much like you either, so there. :-PPaulina Charlotte is very Grimaldi-esque. Love it. Paulina Helen, Pauline Beatrice, Paulina Margaret (love!), Paulina Mary are winning my heart. Thanks so much.

They're both beautiful, but I slightly prefer Paulina. I also like the Italian form Paolina. My grandfather had a cousin named Paolina.

Paolina is beautiful and sophisticated. Love it. Thanks for the feedback!

I think they're both kind of nice. I'm not so sure how I'd feel about hearing them on a little girl, but I can picture either nicely on a studious college student. I prefer Pauline to Paulina, but I also quite like Paolina. I think I can picture that more on a child. I do have a combo with it that I can't remember, and I'm not at home so I can't look it up. :( But if I remember, tomorrow afternoon when I get home I'll try to post it if this thread isn't lost by then!

Yes. I have a soft spot for Paola / Paolina too. I love the "pow" sound. It's so unexpected. :-)Yay -- a Pauline fan.

Hm, Pauline just doesn't do it for me for some reason. Although I could see it in the mn spot a little better. Paulina, while still not my style, seems like it has more potential. And I find the nickname Lina kind of cute.
How about
Paulina Grace
Paulina Rose
Paulina Marie.
Just kidding - I know, I was supposed to help you wake up not put you to sleep! :o)
Chrysantha Pauline
Amadea Pauline
Paulina Maelle
Paulina Magdalen
Pauline Magnolia
Paulina Josette
Paulina Bernadette
That's all I got, sorry.
Like any?

I love Pauline and Paulina equally, but I knew Pauline wouldn't be as popular. Would it help any if I said the reason I ike Pauline is that I picture a French aristocrat named Pauline? We (I assume) usually picture French aristocrats using flashy names like Antoinette, Clemence or Melisande. But I bet if we looked at BAs for the aristocracy they would use names with more cool restraint -- something like Pauline. I picture my Pauline during WWII, occasionally helping the French resistance. She doesn't need any medals. She wears her honor on the inside. At least that's what my brain tells me.

Well, you're welcome then. I tend to feel a little inferior as some around here so easily (it seems) come up with 30 combos off the top of their head, half of which include names I've never heard of. But I think my exposure to this site is improving my comboing skills and my name-vocabulary.Anyhow, I thought you'd like Paulina Bernadette. And that's a nice picture of "your" Pauline - even if I still don't like her name. :o)

I feel like Paulina is more "modern," and by that I mean more old-fashioned and more ready to make a comeback. I personally prefer the Russian Polina (pah-LEE-na; unstressed O sounds like A in Russian), but Paulina is nice as well. I think Pauline is still a bit too dated for me. I equate it with names like Shirley and Bernice. Combos later... I have to run to lab.

Poor Pauline. :-(Yay, for Paulina. :-)And Polina is a zippy variant. It reminds me of Pola Negri making a gothic fool of herself at Rudlph Valentino's funeral. Great vamp potential.

I really like Paulina. It's so purple and happy, and since it's been rather forgotten, it has a slight quirky edge to it. Wasn't there a Paulina combo I came up with one day that just blew me outta the water? I gotta take a look-see in the archives. One moment. Oh yes, it was Paulina Susan! Such a lovely combo, that one. Some ca-razy Pauline/a combos:Pipra Paulina
Hersilia Pauline
Demelza Pauline
Pauline Marilou
Molly Pauline
Opal Pauline
Paulina Gwenaelle
Nolwenn Pauline
Pauline Anais
Thais Paulina
Cleo Paulina
Pauline Marjolaine

Paulina Susan rocks the WWII canteen. Look how she jitterbugs. Purple is the word for Paulina Susan.Better than caffeine:Hersilia Pauline
Demelza Pauline -- quirky goodness -- my favorite here
Nolwenn Pauline -- although I might tweak to Paulina for a different ending sound
Pauline Anais -- heaven!
Thais Paulina
