Cleo
I was thinking about the name Cleo and I know it comes from the name Cleopatra (From the Greek name Κλεοπατρα (Kleopatra) which meant "glory of the father", derived from κλεος (kleos) "glory" combined with πατρος (patros) "of the father") and looking at the meanings and how they are put together, I've suddenly realised that Cleo would probably just mean "glory", not "glory of the father". Am I right? That seems to make sense to me and if I am right then I love the name even more! Also, what are the general opinions on the name? Thanks in advance for any help.

Miss Cleo is what I think of too. Made too many jokes at her expense to forget! hahaha!

I love both Cleo and Clio, but I slightly prefer Cleo. I don't know about meanings, but I think Cleo is spunky and fun, but still dignified enough to be taken seriously. It has a nice balance.
I think you're right. I like Cleo. I think it's cute, but it seems a little insubstantial as a first name. It just seems really nicknamey to me.
Yeah, it would mean glory. That's cool. I like the name Cleo; more manageable than Cleopatra but still regal-ish and cool.
I think you're correct about the "glory" thing. I like Cleo quite a bit. I know a Cleo, she is Greek, and she pulls it off very well.
I think that is exactly right. I have always thought of Cleo as an Anglicization of Kleio rather than a short version of Cleopatra, and Kleio means 'glory.'
I like Cleo a lot. It has a lot of spunk.

Sounds right to me, but I couldn't tell you for sure. Cleo and Clio both are sleek, chic, and great alternatives to Chloe. I love the O ending. So rare on a girl name! Cleo feels modern and sophisticated, but still timeless and obviously has a great pedigree. Cleo is a winner.
I think it might cause some confusion IRL. It would almost certainly never be spelled correctly, and the pronunciation might cause some head-scratching (I myself for some reason always want to say "CLAY-oh" when I see Kleio). Kleo is much more straightforward but I must admit it looks a tad flaky (on par with Khloe).
However I would fully endorse Kleio over Khlëo or Cleigho or god knows whatever else people could come up with!

I love this name. I can't be of any help with the meaning. But you could ask that question on the name facts board. They would answer that there. But Cleo is a very beautiful name. I could be biased I love Egyptian history haha. :)
