Unfortunately, it was pronounced BROAD-lee, rather than BRODE-lee. I just - I had the same reaction. Why start your daughter's name with broad, of all things? That's just terrible.

Poor planning. It wouldn't be great on a boy, but on a girl, it's so much worse. No girl needs to have "broad" attached to her name.
Maybe she'll shorten it to plain Leigh when she gets older.
