Ulysses
One of my favorite guys' names. What do you think?

This is a family name on my mom's side for three men and inspired my mom's middle name. No one liked the name and nicknames were very hard to come by -- I can only think of Uly (YOO-lee) and none of the men used that.
I'm not really big on name meanings, but Ulysses is the Latin form of Odysseus, which many believe to mean "to hate". That may or may not be a dealbreaker for you, but because of my family's reaction to the name and its meaning, I'd never be able to use it.

I like the feminine version, Odessa, better.
I like it
There's something very appealing about this name, to me. I can't seem to get it out of my head. I think it's the "s" ending. I also like the song "Ulysses" by Franz Ferdinand :)
It wasn't until I discovered this song a few days ago that I realized this name was pronounced yoo-LIS-eez and not YOO-li-sis. I like the proper pronunciation better haha.

I love it and I think it should be used more and if you have a baby and name him Ulysses I would like you to invite me to his christening.
