I've heard it before, but I just can't remember where! It seems like it was someone I met (an older man?) at a cajun / bluegrass music festival. Its an interesting name, good for a character- I picture him as an eccentric old man. I've been pronouncing it with 2 syllables 'thair-IHN'. It doesn't sound French to me though.

Interesting. I've seen the name Theoren before with the pronunciation THAIR-in. I know that it wouldn't be the correct French pronunciation though (they pronounce "th" as "t"). Both Theirn and Theoren may have been coined by French settlers.
