Hayleen?
We're considering using Grace as one of Caemlyn's middle names. Grace was my grandmother's name. If we do, I'd like to incorporate my grandfather's mother's name if we ever have a second daughter. Her name was Alene (according to her...some records show Ilene). I don't really like the "leen" sound, but Hayleen is so close to a favorite of mine (Hayleigh), that I like it. So what do you think of Hayleen? Any other suggestions? I also like Magdalene with a nn of Maggie, Maddie, or Molly.

I don't mind Alene (prefer the Aline spelling). Not keen on Hayleen, though. Magdalene is great.
I don't like it, sorry. It sounds very unsophisticated and a little bit silly. Also I don't think it would work well with Caemlyn (Caemlyn Hayleen? Looks silly, doesn't it?) I'd go with Grace in this case, it's much nicer.
I prefer Hayley. Hayleigh is too fussy, and Hayleen is too unsophisticated by far. Magdalene is streets ahead of all of them.
My friend's mother came from a family with a tradition of giving children names starting with A-. I thought for years that she was the exception to that rule as her name seemed to be Eileen, but they'd used the Aileen spelling and the Eileen pronunciation. Maybe your great-grandmother made a similar decision?

Sorry but I really can't stand Hayleen. I do however love Magdalene - and the nn of Maggie (or Molly come to think of it) is adorable.
Grace is very common as a middle name these days, but using it would be a good way to honor your grandmother. It seems a lot less like a filler middle name in that case.
I think that Hayleen would probably cause confusion. I'd imagine that people would be inclined to mistake it for Hayley/Haley/Hailey, etc., which is what usually happens with unusual names that are very close to popular names. I've actually heard of people with unusual names going by very similar, more common names. My guess is that they got tired of having to correct people all of the time. Although it's more popular, I'd recommend just going with Hayleigh instead of Hayleen.
Magdalene is pretty. Maggie or Maddie would both work well as nicknames for it.

I like the sound of it, definitely...I think I prefer the spelling Haylene or Hailene though. It's cute.
ETA: But now that I think of it, it does sound a lot like Helene.

I'm sorry, but it sounds a little too hillbilly for me. NMS at all.
Hayley is better. :)
I don't like it at all, sorry. I'm not a fan of made-up names in general.
Alene is a Medieval nickname for Adeline, according to BtN, or a variant of Eileen. Have you considered Adeline, Adele, Aveline, Helen or some other related name?
I much prefer Magdalene "Maggie".

Personally, I don't like it because it sounds made up to me.
I love the name Magdalene, though you have to be okay with all the Mary Magdalene references.
You could also try rearranging the letters in Alene to make up a new name. Some ideas are Elena and Leena.
Or you could pronounce it as Alenah. I know someone whose name is Lene, and she pronounces it as Lenah.

Hayleen is pretty. :)
I think you should pronounce it Hay-lynn.
