I've recently come across this name, it's a rare Medieaval Italian name mentioned in Dante's Divine Comedy. It's pronounced A-LA-ja.

That is pretty. What does it mean?
No idea, should investigate. It's very uncommon.
It looks pretty and interesting, but the pronunciation makes me think: 'A larger what?'
It reminds me of the name Aglaia/Aglaja wich I prefer.
While it sounds okay, when I looked at it it reminded me of algae!
