Re: Middle Name for Oliver? (ETA)
in reply to a message by LizzyQ
Oliver is a terrific choice. :-)
I can't promise all of these won't have some biblical / religious reference / element to them, but I'll try:
Oliver Forest / Silvan / Silvanus
Oliver Heath
Oliver Sorrel
Oliver Stirling
Oliver Soren
Oliver Stellan
Oliver Seamus
Oliver Peregrine (as in the falcon)
Oliver Wolfe / Wolfram
Oliver Kendrick
Oliver Marius
Oliver Septimus
Oliver Quintus
Oliver Tarquin
Oliver Tybalt
Oliver Tavish / Thomas
Oliver Bosun (= boat swain)
Oliver Tadhg / Tighe (= poet)
Oliver Darius
Oliver Dax
Oliver Knut (after the German polar bear?)
Oliver Leif
Oliver Rune
Oliver Esmund / Esmond
Oliver Hadrian
Oliver Titus
Oliver Geraint (you could read him to sleep with stories from the Round Table)
Oliver Archimedes
Oliver Euclid
Oliver Ptolemy
Oliver Polaris
Oliver Orion
Could any of these work for you? Perhpas they give you ideas for another name that you like better.
I'm sure there are scads of great names you could glean from arstrological / astronomical books. I've found myself in libraries culling indexes of history books for names as well. Shakespearean character lists are great too.
Good luck. I'd love to hear how your search for the perfect name progresses. Thanks for a fun challenge. :-)
ETA: I just noticed that your ds' name is Sebastian. Sebastian and Oliver make a stunning set of brothers. Nice job.
If Oliver will be joining you this summer, then perhaps his mn could reflect the month he is born in. Junius, Julius / Julian, August / Augustus, Leo?

ooh, I like the name Oliver. It's on our list, but it is tough with our last name unfortunately. I love Oliver Heath, Oliver Soren, Oliver Stirling (or Sterling), Oliver Seamus, and Oliver Tavish...IMHO.
Others:
Oliver Turin
Oliver Dwyn
Oliver Lugus
Oliver Aidan
Oliver Bran
Oliver Cian
Oliver Phinneas
Oliver Gunther (together meaning warrior of peace)
Oliver Phoenix
Oliver Glenn
Oliver Lee
Oliver Mason
Too out there? Some of them are a stretch for me, but might give you some ideas. The last few are a little more mainstream, but still nature based.
