Japanese names
What are some Japanese names that could fit well in the United States with names such as Elizabeth, Eleanor, and Isobel? I like a lot of Japanese names, but they don't always sound very good with my other favorite names. Also, WDYTO Yuki? What gender do you prefer it for? What are some combos for Yuki? Thanks! Also, my math substitute is having a baby soon and she is thinking Ivy for a girl or Adam for a boy with surname Greene. I like Adam and Ivy sounds good but Ivy Greene is just a bit strange for me, Ivy being green and all. WDYT?

Ivy Greene does sound weird, but Adam and Ivy is even weirder because it sounds awfully close to Adam and Eve. There aren't many Japanese names that fit well with Elizabeth, Eleanor and Isobel, but here are a few that I think MAY:Aina
Airi
Aya
Emi
Hana
Hina
Naomi
Noa
Rei
Rin
Ren
Rina
SoraI don't like Yuki. It sounds like a male name. It's too close to yucky! :(

Both Adam and Ivy Greene are strange. I think of the plant and the singer!!

I always loved Japanese names, even though I had no infatuations with Anime, Manga, etc...nor am I aware that I actually have Japanese Blood flowing through my veins...I always found them to be poetically inspiring and beautiful.I prefer the name Yuki for a girl in most situations, but I believe a young male would stand graciously up to the name, too.I always thought that Yuki sounded best used as:
Yukime
Yukimi
YukikoI don't really know about putting two different names like Elizabeth and Yuki together, but here goes nothing, lol:
-Elizabeth Yuri
-Elizabeth Sora
-Elizabeth Mei
-Isobel Ayame
-Isobel Suzume
-Isobel Natarasu (is this a Japanese name? I know a kid from Japan who has it, and she's really cool...)
-Isobel Izanami
or maybe just Elizabeth Nami?
I don't think I helped you much here, but I hope i did something to help you choose!-Ashers-

I like Japanese names myself, though I shy away from using them. In my opinion, Aoi sounds pretty nice with your preferred names. I like Kiku but it sounds juvenile and mismatched with Isobel and your other names.Yuki is cute, but very much overused. The meaning is quite pretty. May I introduce you to Haukea? It's also a pretty name- Hawaiian, though.I do like the name Ivy, though Ivy Greene does sound strange. All in all, these are nice names but I'm uncertain as to how to combine them.

Well, since Japanese names are pretty "exotic" I guess in the US, they wouldn't really fit perfectly with those names. But I do think that names like Ayame, Hiroshi, Izumi, Keiko, Kenshin, Kimiko, Midori (excellent violinist, btw), Miyako, Suzume, Tamiko, Ryo could fit in the best especially with nicknames like Izzy, KeKe, Kenny, Kimi, Dora, Miya, Suzy, Tami, etc.Yuki seems like a feminine name to me. I like it except that it looks like "yucky."If Ivy is a girl, it doesn't really matter what her last name is if she gets married in the future. I think Ivy Greene is a really pretty name, though.
