I completely agree with everything you said. My grandmother told me that I should name my daughter Jennifer or Jessica, and I said, ew! Way too trendy and dated to the 70-80's! And she just laughed and said that is how she felt at my age with Bertha and Mildred! That everyone used it, and it became WAY popular. Nowadays most people think that Bertha and Mildred are ugly, and I can bet in like 50 odd years, the trendy names of today will be our Berthas and Mildreds of tomorrow!
