Angelina?
I'm beginning to really like this name. I do like very feminine names, but generally try to stay away from the Isabella/Ava/Emma trend. (My one guilty pleasure is Olivia, even though it's #4 in my state right now.) Opinions? Comments? Combos? My favorite Angelina combo at the moment is Angelina Margot, but I also like Angelina Elise. Is it too girly? Also, I'm worried about it's popularity - it's #42 and rising. :(

I also love the name Angelina. I used to read the Angelina Ballerina books as a little girl, so that probably helped me to like the name. Unfortunately Angelina Jolie has somewhat put me off the name. I just find her to be a highly unusual person and I wouldn't want people to think I named my DD after her. I also wouldn't want people to say, "Oh, Angelina, like Angelina Jolie" all the time. That would annoy me!

I used to love Angelina but I have become rather tired of reading about Brangelina so while I still think it's pretty, I'd much rather see Angeline.I like the flow of Angelina Margot better because Angelina Elise has the vowels running together too much for my tastes and because Angelina Margot just sounds better to me. I can't see Angelina rising into the top 10 (or even 20) but I have been known to be wrong on occasion. ;-)

No, it's not too girly. What bothers me is the "ng" sound - I just don't like it in names (Angel, Evangeline, Solange). Angelina Elise is pretty, but Angelina will never be a favorite of mine.

I really like it, but it isn't one I would use for family name reasons.

I've always really like Angelina but it too strongly connected to Angelina Jolie for me to ever consider using.

I used to dislike it because it seemed so singularly the name of Angelina Jolie. Then I heard the song Angelina Zooma-Zooma by Louis Prima and I've grown to really like it.

Angelina is OK, but I find Angelica to be much more sophisticated and elegant. Angelica Margot sounds great to my ears.

Angelina Elise is really pretty.I think it's a great name, though I do worry about the Jolie connection. Honestly, though, there are worse connotations. If you like it, I wouldn't worry about it.

I think Angelina is a beautiful name.

As an Angela, I always thought it was too syrupy sweet and over-elaborate. And Angelina Jolie doesn't make it more appealing to me. But I guess the general public sees it differently because the name is going up in popularity, and I cannot think of any other reason besides Jolie.

its not that i associate it with Jolie, i just find the name a little too sugary.

Too Jolie, and cutesy anyway. I do like Angelica, though.

It's okay. I generally don't like any Angel- names, so I'm predisposed not to like it. I don't hate it, though. Angelina Margot has a nice sound to it, but I don't like Angelina Elise.

I don't see what's so wrong with Angelina Jolie myself. I like Angelina Margot. Very Pretty. I also like Olivia.

Angelina is pretty but I prefer Angeline. I like the sound of Angelina Margot, it's feminine but not too "frilly". I like the name Elise more than MArgot, but I don't like the same sound in the middle of both Ange-LEE-na and E-LEE-se.

Ruined by Jolie.Sadly. Otherwise I might like the name.ETA that I'm not sure about the repetative "E" sound in Angelina Elise, but Angelina Margot is a great combo. And I'm with Crista, I prefer Angeline.

On the one hand my name is Jolie...As a matter of fact, my name is not Jolie but Joanna. However, I consider it very nice as a nickname. Just like my mates. Consequently they call me Jolie.( a comment about Angelina Jolie because some people believe it's funny to call your child Beautiful, Honour, Charity, etc. )
