Nikita (m) (and Ankita?)
I just started thinking about this the other day. I don't remember the context. I think someone was posting about it for a girl. (which I actually think is etymologically "fair," if you look at what it derives from. As if anyone wanted my opinion!) I definitely prefer it for a boy though. I like how it ends in A and is decidedly masculine. I like the neat clicky way it sounds. It feels solid and namey to me. The fact that it is Russian also appeals to me for some reason. I like Nick and Nika for it. I like the meaning. I have a "character" named Nikolai and I am pretty sure I am going to change his name to Nikita. My combo ATM is Nikita Spyridon. I have been looking for a way to incorporate Spyridon into some combo or another and I think the meaning of the combo is nice - unconquerable spirit.
I also like Ankita for similar phonetic reasons. I know a kid named Ankita and he is really neat. I began to think about how neat his name was after one of my other friends affectionately referred to him as "Keeter" and I was very tickled. However, upon BtNing it, I discovered that it is considered a female name. I am going to ask him about it.

I love Nikita for a boy and Nika for a girl.Never heard Ankita before and it does sound feminine to me, like a combo of Anika and Nikita.

I'd forgotten how much I used to love Nikita. Thanks for bringing it up! Nikita Spyridon is awesome. Love love love it. It sounds a little like someone's whole name (FN/LN) but I don't think that's much of a problem :)

Spyridon can become Spyros. I like Nikita but I don't like Spyridon...
