I wouldn't choose Calvin (too overtly religious) or Caleb (I don't like the -leb sound). My choice would be Callum. Not my usual style, but my brother had a friend in kindergarten who was the cutest little boy you ever saw - round face, blonde curls* - and that's coloured the name for me.
So . . . Callum "Cal".
* the fact that he had a young, single, cute father who was working part-time to be a home parent, and the fact that I was only ~10 years younger than this father at the time, may also have had something to do with it!
