I tend to think it is, unless you are Jewish of course. There are many Israeli names that I love but would think twice about using. I would probably stay with a Biblical name.
However, I think Ilana looks and sounds sufficiently mainstream to be a feasible op[tion. I think Aliza and Aviva also fall into this category.

I like Ilana better. It is pretty but I would only use it if you are Israeli or Jewish. If not, I agree with Murasaki. I have met two Ilanas and both are Jewish. I have also met an Israeli/Jewish Aliza and Aviva. Also the big difference between the two is one is a girl (Ilana) and one is a boy (Ilan) or maybe you know this and are just asking if you like it on a girl verses a boy.
