Re: Persephone
I strongly dislike your pronunciation of the name, but it's one of my favorite names with the pronunciation per-SEF-a-nee. I'm not sure if I'd ever actually use it, but it is a gorgeous name, imo.

To be honest, I really dislike pronouncing it the way it's meant to be, which I know will sound silly to most people, but the way it's supposed to be pronounced sounds like Stephanie, and I really dislike the name.

If you don't like the way it's supposed to be pronounced, I don't think it's fair that you use it. It's like naming your child Emily and insisting that it be pronounced eMILLy, Benjamin "ben-JAY-min," Victoria vic-to-RIE-ah, Charles "Char-less." It's incorrect and it's not the same name.I dislike how it sounds too, although it's been growing on me. If I met a Persephone I would be made happy, but if I met a Purse-a-phone I would become quite depressed and probably post an unhappy message about it on BtN.

Totally agree

Haha, well, I suppose that makes sense, but I couldn't really think of another spelling for it. and if I were to make one up, it'd be called made up, so either way I'm screwed with that name.

Agreed.I was going to write - "It's nice but it makes me want to say it Percyphone". And then I read your message and saw that you were pronouncing it the same way.Per-seff-ah-nee.Like Stephanie without the t, but with Per in front.
