I pronounced it 'per-seh-fone' when I first heard it because I though that was what the spelling was (I read it in a book). I think that it is meant to be said 'per-sef-on-eh' or 'per-sef-on-ee'. Personally I like all three but for me the name is a guilty pleasure. It's a bit too much to use in real-life IMO. But I do adore it and would greatly admire anyone who used it!
