Re: WDYTO Lucy?
Techically, Lucille is the pet form. I know Lucy is shorter, but it was used as a name first. Just like Jeanette was originally the pet form of Jean, and Anouska the pet form of Anne. Just because they are the longer, does not make them the original.

Hey, it appears you're right! I looked up Lucy, and it said that it's the English feminine form of Lucius. And then I looked up Lucille, and it said it's the French pet form of Lucia. I guess my thinking was influenced by Lucille Ball, whom we all know went by Lucy. Well, I don't have a problem with Lucy anymore, but as I'm not going to be having any more children, it's all academic.

No problems, I never realised it was a "legit" full name either until Btn enlightened me.
