Haha. I have some very distant ancestors named Devereux, and for a long time I thought it was just gorgeous and delightfully snobby. I still think both of those things, but I've decided that the Devereux's in my family are waaay too distant for me to allow myself to use it.
I like it in the same way that I like Tippins--as an elegant surnamey middle name for a girl. But I don't like it as a first name very much at all.

I have ancestors named Devereux, as well. They're from the 16th century. I wonder if they are the same ones?
