Seymour
WDYT of Seymour as a fn for a modern boy? Too surnamey? Too old-ish? I'm just happening to like it, lately, for some reason. ;o) I don't think DH and I will be having any more kids after Jelly Bean is born, but if Fate intervenes miraculously and we end up with another boy in the future, I could see using Seymour, if only as a MN.

I'm quite partial to Seymour.
Then again, it's also a family name, and I'd love to use it to honor my mom's side of the family in that way.
I think Seymour might have the potential to make a comeback in a couple of years. Maybe not soon, but perhaps eventually. It's a little "old," but I think it's delightfully so, rather than feeling stuffy.

When my dad was in high school, his vice principal's name was Seymour Zass. Of course, they called him Seymour Butts.
...They had to call him something other than Seymour Zass? I mean, come on--the guy was essentially christened "Seymour's ass" and they felt they had to improve upon it? :P
For the record, I'm not sure how I feel about Seymour. I've never really considered it before, and now I'll clearly have to think about it.

Simpsons, all the way

"Feed Me, Seymour"
Too "Little Shop of Horrors" for me, but people who weren't stuck operating tentacles inside a scorchingly hot alien plant suit during a high school musical might not make the same connection.

ROFL!
That was a great mental image! I spook really easily, and I tried to watch LSoH (the non-musical), but I got too freaked out. ;o)

Hmm...I find it acceptable but honestly, I just think of Little Shop of Horrors immediatly. Maybe the association isn't that strong for people who aren't into musicals.
I think either that blue-haired creep in Final Fantasy X game or the principal from The Simpsons, but I can't see why it couldn't work as a mn.

I think it's awfully dated. Like somebody's daffy old uncle who stays at home and makes bad homemade wine or Disney-themed chamber pots. lol
