Hmm? I'm the only one that picked Sarah? I think it flows better, and Iris, while a pretty word, makes me think of the iris of one's eye.Leslie, lucky mommy to Scott (2000), Delaney (2002), and Larissa (2005)

Emily is lovely, but I can't picture it on a grown woman. It sounds very childish and nicknamey to me. That said, Emily Iris is gorgeous, and Emily Sarah is nice too (but I prefer Sarah Emily).

Well I LOVE the name Emily and I don't really care if it's popular or not, it's still a beautiful name. I really like Emily Iris, that's pretty. Emily Sarah is also very nice. Sarah is my name though, so I think I might be biased!

I love the name Emily despite it's popularity. Emily Iris is pretty, Emily Sarah is pretty too, but doesn't have much spunk. I think Emily Iris is best.------------------------------------------------

I really like the name Emily. I think that both Iris and Sarah are good middle names but I like Iris more, gives it something a bit more uncommon because of the popularity of the name.

Thanks! I agree about balancing it out ... I would probably end up using a more unusual name with Emily because it's so popularAlice Favourite names: Isaac, Edmund, Iris and Anouk

I love Emily, Iris and Sarah. However, if Iris is your favorite name, use IT as a first name. If you use your favorite as a middle, you'll never really hear it. Also, I wouldn't let the popularity of a name stop me from using it if I liked it. You never can tell what name will catch on and become popular. You might pick something obscure that becomes all the rage.

Thanks, I've always used my middle name alot but I think I'm one of few ... Alice Favourite names: Isaac, Edmund, Iris and Anouk

Emily Iris is really cute! ^_^Emily and Abigail use to be my favorite names when I was really little. They are really cute, but alittle too used for my tastes but since you don't care about that go for Emily Iris it's a really nice combo. ^_^ I don't care so much for Emily Sarah, it doesn't flow as well, plus Iris is so cute and sweet. If you are having a baby soon you should talk this over more with your partner rather than us.---------------------------------------------------------------------

Thankyou :) I'm glad you think Iris is sweet ... I always thought so but most people seem to find it old-ladyishEdit: I'm not planning on having any babies soon, I'm 17! But I would definitly consult the father when I am ;)Alice Favourite names: Isaac, Edmund, Iris and Anouk

Emily is one of the few overly popular names that I still really like. But I'd never use it because it IS so popular and common.
I do love Iris, what about Iris Emily? Emily Sarah doesn't flow extremely well and both names are just so common that it isn't attractive to me at all. At least with Emily Iris, Iris isn't as popular so it 'balances' out somehow (at least in my mind, lol).
I do like that Sarah is your mom's name, though, so how about another name you love, that is less common, as the fn and Sarah as the mn? Even though they run together a bit, I do like Iris Sarah. :)

Hey there. My name is Emily and while I do like the name, also, Emily Iris is very pretty, I'm COMPLETELY put off by its incredible popularity. It makes me sad how common my name is because I've always thought that a name should be a part of a person's identity. It's so popular that I walk into a classroom and meet a handful of other Emilys. I hear my name screamed on the streets because heck, we're all named Emily! This is just my opinion of course, but I like to inform people considering this name, as someone who has it.

Thanks! I really appreciate that ... I never met anyone with my name when I was little which I loved, I hate meeting people with the same name as me so I will think about that :)Alice Favourite names: Isaac, Edmund, Iris and Anouk

I think Emily is a sweet name, and it isn't popular at all here (the Catalan form Emília is totally out dated), so this isn't an issue for me, but even without knowing a single one, I think of it as a plain name (too much BtN, that's it!) . And about the combos...Iris Emily would be much better, imo, and Emily Sarah is nice, but a bit boring, I think.

I like it, and I really think the other Em- names out there, like Emma and Emerson, are gaining much more speed in terms of trends, even if Emily is topping the lists. I never see it in local birth announcements, and people discard it on the board here because they feel it is too popular. Popularity doesn't bother me, anyway. And, since it's a family name, it's even better. I like Emily Sarah.
